NO STEP OR COUNT CHANGES MADE. Many thanks to the poster for helping clear up the description of the SWIVIT and this moderator's mistaken impression that this was similiar to an apple-jack step. TWENTY FOUR STEP Circle Dance A good dance for *very fast* music. NAME: TWENTY FOUR STEP TYPE: Circle dance POSITION: Solo or in pairs etc. (CCW around the floor) CHOREOGRAPHER: unknown MUSIC: THANK GOD I'M A COUNTRY BOY by JOHN DENVER SOLD by JOHN MICHAEL MONTGOMERY or any similar FAST 4/4 music (Good for music that is too fast for anything else, like band break music) First eight count: 2 LEFT HEEL, 2 SWIVITs RIGHT: 1-2 Left heel forward (45 degree angle to left), left foot together 3-4 Repeat steps 1-2 5-6 "SWIVIT" right so toes point to the right, then return toes to front. 7-8 Repeat steps 5-6 NOTE: (A right "SWIVIT" is done with weight on heel of the right foot and on the ball of the left foot, then pivot both feet to angle to the right at 90 degrees, so that the toes of both feet point to the right. In doing so, the left heel moves left and the right toes move right.) Second eight count: 2 RIGHT HEELS, 2 HEELS RIGHT: 1-2 Right heel forward (45 degree angle to right), right foot together 3-4 Repeat steps 1-2 5-8 Pivot heels right, center, left, center Third eight count: RIGHT AND LEFT HOOK: 1-2 Right heel forward, right heel cross in front of left knee 3-4 Right heel forward, right together 4-6 Left heel forward, left heel cross in front of right knee 7-8 Left heel forward, touch left toe back Forth eight count: 4 SHUFFLES FORWARD: 1&2 Shuffle forward l, r, l 3&4 Shuffle forward r, l, r 5&6 Shuffle forward l, r, l 7&8 Shuffle forward r, l, r BEGIN AGAIN Moderator Note: an interesting update to the venerable 10/12/22/24 step circle dance.
